Due to the United Kingdom leaving the European Union (Brexit), the rules for EU citizens entering the UK have changed. However, people who moved to the UK before the end of the transition period (31/12/2020) have the right to apply for and receive (pre-)settled status. This status allows them to retain their existing rights and privileges, enabling them to live, work, study, and access benefits and public funds in the UK without any changes.

◦ If you have lived in the UK for less than 5 years, you will receive pre-settled status, which is valid for 5 years. Once you have completed 5 continuous years of residence in the UK, you can apply for settled status.
◦ If you have lived in the UStudying in the United Kingdom:K for more than 5 years, you will receive settled status, which has no expiration date.
